Hello artists!
It’s time for the 2013 Queen’s Walk Art Exhibition (QW13), presented by Tenaris Algoma Tubes in conjunction with ROTARYFEST and the Tenaris Second Stage. This community exhibition showcases visual artwork by regional emerging artists of all ages in an alternative venue, taking art to Queen Street East between East Street and Brock Street during ROTARYFEST. QW13 will be held Saturday, July 20th, 2013, from 1:00 pm (setup begins following the ROTARYFEST parade) until 7:00 pm. People’s choice awards, decided by the voting audiences who see the show, will be awarded.
Applications are now being accepted for QW13. Artists working in all media are invited to submit applications which will be considered by a curatorial panel assembled by the Art Gallery of Algoma (AGA). This exhibition is NOT a sale but offers artists excellent exposure to the crowds cruising Queen Street during ROTARYFEST and the Tenaris Second Stage. All works must be in ready-to-present condition and professional presentation is a must (framing, hanging hardware, etc. are to be provided by the artists).
Participating artists are asked to attend the exhibition with their work and are responsible for installing, removing and monitoring their own works. The Tenaris Second Stage committee will not be held responsible for lost, stolen or damaged work. There is no entry fee, but a$30.00 refundable deposit is due with all applications to ensure artists’ attendance.
Mail or drop off application packages and deposits to the attention of Miranda Bouchard, QW Coordinator, at the Art Gallery of Algoma, 10 East Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario by 5:00 pm on Friday, May 31st, 2013. You may also submit your application via email (miranda@artgalleryofalgoma.
Please note that in the event of rain, the exhibition will be hosted indoors at the Circle of Creative Arts Centre, 648 Queen Street East. Thank you for your interest in this year’s Queen’s Walk Art Exhibition. We look forward to seeing your work and celebrating with you at the exhibition!
